Hello Everyone,
I have a large group of Army Cadets that I will be taking on a 4-7 day canoe trip in mid July. They are about 15-17 years old on average and usually have some training and experience canoeing. Last year's group of cadets canoed from just below Grand Falls to Meductic on the St. John River. The year before we traveled the Oromocto river from Blissville to Oromocto in 2 days... but that was kinda boring.
For the new group this year I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on possible runs that we could look into doing instead of the St. John. I'd prefer it to be near (start or end in) the Fredericton/Oromocto area.
I appreciate any thoughts and ideas!
Thanks!

The St croix would be a safe Bet and two easy class 2-3 drops to keep you interested. Lots of camp sites. A easy safe trip with interesting things on the way. Not very far to go either.

We have done the St. Croix about 3 years ago. I was wondering if there are any other options?
Thanks

the south west is a good run with a lot of miles of pretty good rapids in the upper end when there is enough water with lots of places to camp, but not so many large camping area's ,, how big a group ?,,,I have done that stretch several times,, if you don't plan around the rain in July the water gets too low and your going to do a lot of walking,,,been there done that,, for July paddling the big rivers are your best bet,,,
