We ran the Nipisiquit with 4 boats. Put in at the head of Camp Lake and took out at Popple Depot. Fishing was great. The water was pretty thin and I poled the entire trip with the exception of the lakes, of course. The folks I was with don't pole and "painted" a lot of the rocks. It was a great trip, but it is best poled this time of year IMHO. I will put up some pics on my FB page, but have to get a roll of film developed, as I ruined my digital when I swamped it running the Little Tobique a few weeks back. Jeff

Bummer about your camera. There are some fine waterproof digitals out now, don't seem to cost more than the non-wps. I've swum a few times and my Pentax still clicked.
Poling is great, you see the water so much better.

So what happened on the Little Tobique? My guess is you came around a corner and hit a log jam. That was my experience, the driftwood can be purty nasty on that narrow creek.

Ken Not a log jam but a tight turn with with a sweeper river left at the top of a tight bend and a sweeper river right about 15' down stream at the tail of the bend/pool. I just couldn't get the fully loaded 18.6 boat into the backwater eddy. Not a big wreck. Bumped the stern on the edge of the upstream log and shipped some water. More of a swamping and was for the best. I never would have made it around by myself poling as the water got deep fast. I should have been lining but some of that stuff sneaks up on you on that little river. A good bowman would have gone a long way too. That's the story of the camera. Jeff
