Myself and some buddies have booked the last weekend in July for paddling.
I read all the river diaries on the site (excellent resource btw, thanks!) and the Little River looks fun:
- friendly for intermediate/beginner paddlers - fairly relaxed overnight trip
Is Little River navigable in midsummer?
Does anyone offer a shuttle service?
Our fallback might be Spednik lake, a beautiful spot but incredibly rocky which keeps the motorboats/jetskis away.

Which Little River? There are three of them in NB.
There are only a cuppla rivers with "guaranteed" water depth in mid summer. Green, St. Croix. They can be crowded.
Watch the guages on the Env Canada site, hope for rain, etc. Sometimes the lower Miramichi might be paddleable in summer, but there are a lot of fisherfolk to consider.

Which Little River? There are three of them in NB. I was thinking of www.nanookofthenashwaak.com/litriver.shtmlI didn't know there were 3, I'm familiar with the Moncton-area Little river. I've fished there once or twice this year, last weekend you could have walked across without getting your knees wet... Thanks for the info, Ken.

There's a member named Steph who paddles the Cocagne River, it's close to Moncton. I don't know about an overniter on this stream, though.
I know some folks paddle the North River, the one that goes under the TCH east of Salisbury. It starts north of Moncton then loops back into the Petitcodiac. Real short shutlle. Never done it myself.
Then there's the Canaan River, some folks start off Route 126 (after a good rain) and go quite aways, as far as Coles Island even.
Depends on what you're looking for. I don't thnk there are any "rapids" on these streams. Might be sweepers. But you'll have them all to yourselves, and you could squeeze an overniter in if you plan it right.
