Good Friday, April 2, A Holy Day of Obligation:
Killer Strainer on the Tay about one hour in.
Three foot thick White Pine complete with root system can down a 100 an erroding bank and parked itself across the Tay.
On the Creek a little after 1pm and off about 6:30pm... clearly a nice day to stop and play.
Peter B in a Esquif Detonator. Mike G in a Dagger Ovation. Dino K in an Old Town Cascade. Janine P and Nikki B in an Old Town Appalacian.
Lots and lots of water made the standing waves above the fall almost impassiable. Falls were nooooo problem by comparision.
More later....

We've run the falls three times this weekend - twice without sinking the boat After you come under the power lines, the falls and the big water before them are not far. It's best to stay left all the way through. Lots of water, though levels are dropping. Plan to run the river from the Royal Road today. Thanks for the heads up on the strainer.

April 2. Three boats went right on the falls withouot incident. One idiot in the front of one boat had a separated shoulder so it was either easy or my sternman was good (I guess you know who the idiot is with the bum shoulder). We tried again on the left route and had fairly decent line also. We never took water above, just on the hole below but we managed to eddy out before we were totally full.
Nasis Stream still has the usual strainers but it is at a great level.
Cheers
