Me and my good buddy found out how to fill a canoe full of water before even taking a paddle stroke. Step one... Find a nice 45 degree mud slope. Step two... Have a game of rock paper scissors as to who sits in front. Step three... Sit in the canoe and push off. Step four... Watch your buddy go straight under water as the canoe fills up instantly with water. Step five... Gather all your fishing gear and delicious cold ones before they float away. And finally, Step six... Give your bud a pat on the back realizing we haven't grown up one bit and still know how to laugh at such dumb moves.
That's my trip report for the final stretch of the Nashwaaksis stream into the St. John. We didn't make it too far, but we had one hell of a laugh at ourselves for what we did.
Cheers to a good paddle!
