How about the Salmon River over by Chipman? I've paddled it from Little Forks to Chipman, but I haven't gone on all the little forks along its length.
Big Forks, Little Forks, Lake Stream, in behind Harcourt, lots of alders and beaver dams I'm sure.

I'd be interested in trying the Salmon River from Harcourt. I heard of some people doing it last year on the long weekend in May. I don't know exactly where the access points are though. Has anyone run this? If I can get some details (and a couple of guys) I'd like to try this in late April or early May. You're probably right Ken, lots of alders and beaver dams though...

Anyone here from Chipman? I'm looking for a shuttle driver sometime this spring or summer. Gotta check out the backwoods behind the Salmon River tributaries. Pole up a stream, camp, fish, that sort of thing.

Ken, I asked a guy at work from the Chipman area about possible shuttles in the area and he did not know of anyone in particular. He did say to check these guys out and they might provide a shuttle for a fee.

I paddled the Salmon from the Bronson Road bridge to just above Gaspereau Foks last August in high water. It was flat as a pancake the whole way, except for the mouth of Lake Stream, where we bobbed gently in a few wave trains.
So now I have a head-on for Lake Stream. I'm going to wait for mid-spring, and make it into a fishing trip. Some folks say if the water is right, you can start right at the upper lake ... if you are into bush-whacking and bug-squishing. Ha! I might start at the bridge under the Bronson road and pole up as far as I can, then come down to the main Salmon stream. It'll be a solo trip ... at least until I tell my loving partner!!!!!
Some local folks say Big Forks and Little Forks are runnable in good water too.

I think the Riverbend lodge is gone now, just a hole in the ground. If it's the one just upstream from the mouth of Big Fors brook.
