I'm planning to sail the Cains from the Grand Lake Bridge to it's mouth. I'm hoping to make this a two day trip. Are there any good places to camp midpoint? What's vehicle parking at the mouth like? How about vehicle parking at the midpoint? Any other comments on this are welcome. Oh - the dates will be May 19th - 20th, and all our boats will be plastic. We may get upwards of 10 people in our group.
Thanks, Bob

Bob
I have yet to canoe from Rt 123 to shinnickburn, but I have canoed from there to the mouth. I've also canoed the muzroll brook which flows into the cains in shinnickburn and left my car here with no problems. About an hour or so past shinnickburn is a great spot to set up camp for the night. Its on the river left and it had 2 home made wooden seats on the bank. It was probably the largest site with lots of options for tents. I can't see leaving the vehicle at the take out much of a problem. We just canoed across the miramichi to the howard rd side to take out. Just check with the locals first.
