Hello, I think I am the latest cat here on board. I am from Tracy, NB and love canoing. My fiancé and I just picked up a new Old Town from the sale in Maine and have already hit the North Oromocto, Yoho Stream, Both Branches of the Rusagonis this year. Looking for more adventures this weekend. Great site! Ken, I want your book!

how did you make out on the north oromocto this year? where did you put in? How was the water level? I haven't done the north oromocto in a couple of years, I'm anxious to do it again, it's reaaly fun when the water level on the nb gauge is reading 1.5 m or so but it rarely does on a weekend.

The min to run from Little Lake down is 0.8 in my opinion. I usually put in at Little lake and run down, I have also gone from Oromoto lake too. When the water is high it is fast, but not as fun because there is nothing to dodge. It will be running like a freight train at 1.5 or 3.0 on the guage (which is in Tracy). I ran from Yoho stream down this year. I want to run it this weekend. Tomorrow is looking half decent weather wise. I usually take out at the Bridge in Tracy, however if I am hungry we will float down to Fredericton Junction and get something to eat at the Restaurant, it is about 45 minutes longer. The rips in Frederiction Junction can be interesting as well. Don't try them when it is running 2.5 or higher. I almost drowned there once.

Hello All, We have lived in NB since 1990 and have recently rekindled our relationship with the canoe. Most of our experiences have been on the relative flathingyer of Southwest NS; Tobeatic and Keji area rivers, Lahave, Shannon/Nictaux. We have done most of the "Tent Dwellers" trip, except the interesting stuff between Irving Lake and Sand Lake on the Shelburne River. We are looking forward to our June trip from Mt Carlton to Bathurst on the Nepisiguit River, looks like a challenging adventure.
