I plan on paddling the Nepisiguit river in late July early August from Pople depot down to Heat Steel Bridge. Anybody know if the water level is still hight enought at this time of year?

Further down the river the levels are less than 1000 cfs (probably avbouot 750) so I suspect the water would be very very low unless there is some rain.

To low to run? Where did you get the flow reading?

I know some people who work at the dam.

It needs to be above .8/kayak, Ideally above 1/canoe that would still be considered very very low, {on the middle river near bathurst gauge}. Currently at .73 Unless we get rain I would say no go.
Ken has a phone number posted for the dam that can give you flow rates that L monkey is talking about, under water levels on the front page
I have only been down this river once so take my advice with a grain of caution.

Ran the river this past weekend from pople depot down to 40 mile brook Water level was low but not to low. The canoe did drag on the bottom at a few location but coud probably been avoided by chosing the other side of the river. Over all good trip.
