Looking for some unknown kayak creeks that you may think are unknown that you have come across. Looking for class 4-5 creeks. Just thought maybe someone knows some areas that I haven't explored. Thanks Laurie

Hi, Have you ever tried the Mispec River? I have not done this one personally but have heard it is challenging. Are you into whitewater stuff?

north pole stream in the north, shogomoc -central, digdeguash-south, lepreau-south, pokiok stream -central, those are the first that come to mind.try contacting the unb kayak club, they would be able to provide a lot of info.

The Sevogle river area has some fine creekin' water. I have read of several trips on creeks in the Miramichi country. Check with Paul Hill at hilldeba@nb.sympatico.ca.

Thanks for the info, I have paddled all those rivers except the sevogle, and the digdeguash I know Paul Hill quite well and we paddle together quite a bit so I will likely hook up with him to do that sometime. (What is the diggeguash like, is it steep class 4-5 river. Thanks for any ideas.

I have heard said that the south branch of the Nepisiguit is rock and roll, too steep for canoes, but I can't honestly say whether it is suited to steep creekin'. It comes off Mount Elizabeth, north of the North Pole stream, I believe.
anyone here dne that?

Hi lbrowneye,
There is a couple of pretty good rapids just below Wyman Mills Road on the Digdeguash. You will see this road shortly after heading south on the 127 from route 3 south of Harvey. Haven't paddled this section. The next Cl 4-5 rapid on this river is below Stillwater. The final drop into the Bay of Fundy is huge at low tide- you definitely want to scout this first and check the tide tables!

I have drove along the entire south branch nepisiguit on the trail that runs along it, there was nothing on the river that I could see that would give a canoe any trouble. we were scouting for good kayaks runs.this turned out to be a disappointment. there may be some good wave trains when the river is spring high. I have heard the stories about steep gradient , raft races, and Olympic canoeist not being able to paddle it .

Good idea browney
I know browney and myself and others have paddled all these except for Digdegaush and Sevogle. I have a uncle that has a camp up near River de Chutes but the river is so hard to get to without four wheelers or at least a key to Frasers gates. If the River de Chutes you're talking about is the one that turns into the Wapske I believe. There is supposed to be a nice gorge section but I have not seen it.
Browney, with this precip. the Shog is up over 1 so it should be good to go other than all the ice I'm sure we'll see. Unless it is the ice that is making the gauge run up. Maybe we could check out that Digdeguash this weekend.
I'll give you a call tonight.
cheers
