Hi folks, I was out and checked the water levels on the Upper Nashwaak yesterday at the old Irving dam. It's up so I think I'll run it solo from the Narrows Bridge to Stanley. Anything thing on this section of river I should be aware of before hand. I think it should be a pretty good trip if the water stays up. Does anyone know where I could find one of the old river maps of the Nashwaak?

I seen the trip reprot from Mitchell. I was on the river the same weekend only I did the lower end from Nashwaak Bridge to Fredericton. It was a great trip, a little hairy at times but nothing on the lower end to give you pause. Mitchell high water run was on the section above the Narrows Bridge I think. I'm going to do it Saturday if the water stay up.

The Narrows Bridge crosses the Nashwaak on what use to be called the St. Ann's Nackawic Road. At the end of the bridge you can travel the old fire road along the Nashwaak past Chainy Mountian right up to the Upper Nashwaak Lake. Yes I know where Gorby Gluch is.

If anyone does decide to paddle the Naswaak from the mill rd down to Stanley, please keep an eye out for a black spray deck in the off chance it may still be there. I've hiked from the mill rd up to the narrows a few weeks back but no luck. Thanks, Mitchell

Company is always good. I may wait until just after some heavy rains. The Nashwaak is a good run when it's running....they have it cut so bad on the upper sections the water comes up fast but drops just as quick. I'll check the at the Irving dam for your spray shirt Mitchell, it's clogged up with old drift wood so it may have got hung up in that.

so Nashwaaker,
Where is this road that leads up to the upper Nashwaak Lake? Are you talking about the eastern or the western end of the bridge? I am intersested in driving up to the upper Nashwaak Lake. I know there is a road in from Deersdale, but the standard access road to the outlet is impassable when wet.
Your name is similar to mine. Maybe we are distant outlaws.

On the east end of the narrows bridge. Some call it the portage road others call it the fire road. You can follow it all the way along the river to the upper lake but they have so many roads in that area now it's hard to find you way around. The bonus is so many atv travell those roads you can always get direction. I was up today just to check water levels at the old Irving dam, water is dropping fast. I may take the kayak tommorw instead. If you check out google earth and look at the upper lake you will see the amount of roads in that area.

HAd a good day on the river. Put in at The old Irving dam at 7am, around the firsat bend a bald eagle was sitting watching my progress. Just above the Napadogan Stream a bull moose stood and watched my approach and then like a ghost faded into the woods. It was a little too warm today....took a few swims to cool off. A great little run, water levels have dropped off and it wouldn't be so fun a day or so from now without rain.
