OPTION 1) A couple of co-workers want to go canoeing this Saturday. They want a leisurely one day stretch near Fredericton where they can drink and relax. Which stretch of the Nashwaak would be best bet? OPTION 2 I'm trying to convince these guys to at least make it an overnighter. If so, which section of the Nashwaak would do (considering they want to relax and drink? OPTION 3 I've done the North & South Rusagonis....can't remember--> which stretch would allow these guys to do the above?

Carm, I ran from Stanley to Taymouth last weekend. The water level was about 19m on the durham gauge. There were some waves from Stanley to McLaggan bridge but after that it's pretty tame. Not sure about camping though...

I think it took about four or five hours. That was with a few 20 minute beer breaks. The distance is about 20 to 25 km I think. At that water level there were times when the GPS was telling me we were doing almost 9 km/h. Going down to Durham bridge would probably add another hour or two. I've never canoed down to Penniac, I think the water is really dead below Durham.

from where rt.8 crosses the nashwaak down to marysville or if more breaks are desired then maybe durham to marysville.
