I was thinking of running the St.Croix in a cedar/canvas chestnut I have, my only concern is rocks for obvious reasons. I ran the St. Croix on the may 24 w/k and the water levels was only running about 450 - 500. At those levels there were a few spots i would rather not take a canvas canoe. Now the water levels are 1400+, can anyone comment on rock issues at this level or would i likely just float over most obstacles?

Jamie,
I've run the st croix the last 2 weekends and there is no worry about hitting any rocks. Even little falls could be done without incident.

thanks Mitchell
I'll have to make a trial run on Killarney Lake this week to see if my canoe even floats. Maybe i'll invest in a roll of duct tape too just in case.
