Myself, Riveraddict and Hugh paddled this stream. Here are riveraddict's comments: I enjoyed Cross Creek more and will definitely do it again. Putting in at Route 625 for Cross Creek also makes it twice as long as Youngs. ~20km for CC vs ~10km for Youngs. There are two ledges which may cause problems on CC- one is about 1/2 way between the first and second railway bridges, and the other is right below the second. Besides that, there was lots of woody debris and pushy corners in the upper section, plus a few pushy corners in the lower section with some nice waves..... Oh, water levels were: Youngs Brook- April 25: Nashwaak 20.25, Narrows Mountain 5.60, Nas'is Stream at Sandwith's 0.75 Cross Creek- April 29: Nashwaak ??- gauge is out, Narrows 5.45, Nas'is Stream 0.55 The stream reminded me of a mix between the upper Keswick and Tay rivers. It turned out to be more fun than I expected. There was not a single deadwater the whole length. We had to haul around 5 sweepers or so but it was quick and painless. We were able to run all rapids at this height which is probably about as low as I'd want to paddle it. The shuttle was less than 15 mins as well. I would highly recommend this for an easily accessible and enjoyable day run close to home. Enjoy
