Hi All, I love paddling ever since my first run down the Chi...May run 97 when the water was at like 5 meters. Needless to say my crew were saved by Brad Pond's crew that year and we ended up walking the 6 hours out to the mill where we got picked up. That nightmare ended up making a lot of funny stories. ;D I have been going down that river ever since...This year we are dropping in early Thursday and staying until Sunday. Margarita Saturday is a must. I also like to paddle down the Nashwaak River every weekend it seems, nice and early before all the tubers and the hot sun. As well as the Nash stream as long as there is enough water, it can be tricky in places, my esse and I wrapped our brand new canoe 2 years ago around a very large rock! Thank goodness for the fact we bought on-line because the Vise insurance worked out just fine as we were sent a brand new penobscot canoe. Then we were able to salvage the canoe that we eventually got off the rock... ;D All legitimate I have been down the ST. Croix a few times and enjoy the river as well. Anyhow i think this site is great and I just wanted to say Hi and tell you a bit about my paddling experience.

Cool lopez, welcome to the Board! Feel free to share any info and tales with others here, that's what we're here for. Hope your run down the Chi is a good one. Looks like it'll be fine if the water level stays up above 2 ish.

Morning all!! Im usually Lopez's paddling partner on most runs. Our wives make it out once in a while but mostly its just us two esse's.
I started paddling back in '93 in K1-K4 kayaks and similar C class sprint canoes. Since then i prefer a more relaxed pace on the water.
That was a cold day on the Nash Stream when poor El Bendo became intimate with that rock. All worked out well and a new Penobscot 17' joined the fleet.
I, like Lopez, enjoy a nice early morning paddle before others start taking up space.
Looking forward to the annual Chi run. Its my zen for the year.
Lopez im thinkin on a run next weekend to test out the new Garmin Montana 650t GPS once it comes in wed or thurs. should be a nice addition to the Chi gear. ;D No more listening to Captain Snear and Captain Scurvy debate how many hours till the next camp spot lol.
