How's everybody's rivers shaping up? We've got one little ice jam on the Upsalquitch and lots of rising water with all this warm weather. The Restigouche and Matapedia rivers are still quite solid, there's worries of the village of Matapedia being flooded this year.

Lower Oromocto is mostly ice free as is much of the SJ below the Dam. Me thinks maybe an overnight on an island the first week of April, GOd willing.

An update.... the ice from my place went last night. It sure is nice to hear my old girl flowing again. We have one ice jam that is causing some problems right now, some water on the road, downed trees and possible flooding. The restigouche is still solid.

The Nashwaak let go a couple times in Marysville yesterday, it was jammed up behind my place 174 Canada this morning. Lookin like heritage center might get flooded.

The Upsalquitch ran 3 times today. lol It jammed up at the mouth, where it meets the Restigouche and was powerful enough that the ice went upstream of the Restigouche. Eventually, it also caused the Restigouche to run, atleast as far as Matapedia. Some of the outbuildings of one of the Irving's fishing lodges was flooded right to the rafters, and it was within feet of flooding the lodge where the fishermen stay before the ice unplugged and forced the Restigouche to run. Most of the businesses in Matapedia closed early, incase the water came up into the village.
I'll try to post pictures soon, I don't have them on photobucket yet, just Facebook.

Oromocto is running backwards, they must have released water at the dam, low lying islands are partially flooded.

I'm not sure about other rivers but the Nashwaak is dropping incredibly fast, my landlord has lived on it for 50+ years and has never seen soo low.
