Welcome msod, i'm sure you'll have lots of company on that run if the weather's good. I've only run it once but it is a wonderful trip, the water's always moving, but not too fast. There's some rapids and drops, but nothing too rough. There are links to the Hydrometric Data site, and Ken's own water level reference guide here on this site. Happy paddling.

We're planning on doing that one as well this weekend. I've heard the worst spot in burnt hill but I'm not sure how rough it really is. Is it Class 3 or more?

There are 2 rock that lurk just below the surface in the middle of the channel to be cautious of. If there is plenty of water then you'll likely go over them without issue. Otherwise just enjoy the ride... The 2 nd rock gets people as they are too busy celebrating getting past the 1 st Pull over to river left by the mouth of the brook and scout the rapid 1st. You have to paddle to get in there so pay atttention... River left is more fun. This picture was taken with the water level being low at around 1-1.5 on the guage. High water picture, not sure of the gauge reading. Don't forget the life jackets.... let go of the canoe here if you flip I went for a swim here my 1st time thru.... great fun for a newbie Jamie

We ran Burnt Hill Tuesday at 2.5 m, and it was great. We avoided the ledges on the left, they were curling backwards, so we stayed centre right and had no problem.
I was paddling solo, and when I made a dash for the left bank if Burnt Hill Brook to scout the drop, I was nearly sucked down the big rips backwards. It took all my power to make the far shore, just at the last inch of room. I should have paddled up Burnt Hill Brook a little further before attempting the ferry.
