Well nobody else posted it yet, so I guess I might as well. Mitchell Amos, Mike Christie, Hugh Croll, Dave Melanson and myself did an overnighter on the Mag last Fri-Sat. The Elmcroft gauge was reading 2.2-2.3 which was a great level. We went from Flume Falls to Second Falls, camping at a small but tall rocky island below Pomeroy. The shuttle work was slowed down by all the roads that are still washed out around the area, it was probably 1pm before we got on the water day 1. It made for a long day of paddling day 2, as we started at 1030am, and got off the river at Second Falls at 8pm. This is a wonderful run at this water level, some interesting rips and drops that are worth scouting if you're unfamiliar, and you can portage MacDougall Falls if you're not feeling brave. There are also a few deadwater sections of up to 5km in length so you need to gear up in a balanced way. As the first run of the year, everybody is always happy to see the Magaguadavic. Here's some video taken by Mitchell & Dave. My thanks once again to Mitchell, Mike, Hugh, and Dave. All skilled paddlers, and a lot fun to be around, I hope you all get to meet them on the river someday.
