Ken requested that I post some pictures as I work on the Ogilvy that I bought from him. If anyone has a tip on how to do something or a question on how I've done something, feel free to ask or offer.

The canoe is not in horrible condition (beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... ). Other than the obvious condition of the canvas, one deck was rotten badly, inner and outer gunwales were rotten at the ends. One of the inwales had a crack about 4 feet in from the end. To me it's just as easy to remove all the damaged parts and replace with new. I'll be removing the rest of the inwales after I get the replacements made. Jamie

I picked up some nice ash boards to use in making new gunwales. It's a little dangerous ripping 17' boards by yourself, luckily I still have all my fingers. I have extra wood available for gunwales if anyone need some.... Jamie

The new ash gunwales bend easily as I clamped them in for a test fit.

Unfortunately the more you remove the more you remove, the more you discover needs to be replaced I now have a handfull of rib ends to repair, 3 or 4 full ribs, decks, gunwales and planking to fix.

Anybody interested in taking on this canoe as a project? I won't have a chance to work on it anytime soon and right now its just in my way.
You wont find a better price.... FREE .....
2 requirements, 1st is that you actually try to fix it up, don't take it and let it rot away in you back yard.
2nd, if the canoe turns out okay, it would be nice to have the original brass plate reinstalled on the deck (it will come with the canoe)
If needed I have some materials available (not free but not expensive) to help with the project.
Interested? message, email or call if me ya know the #

How's it going, Jamie? Any takers for the boat? I'd like to see where it ends up, and ultimately ask the new owner to show me a a photo once it's restored.
