I would like to camp at on spendic lake thursday night and paddle down to loon bay or maybe grandfalls dam by sunday. I would like to reach vanceboro mcadam border crossing by mid afternoon I will set out early friday morning 8am or so.where should I camp. any directins from mcadam would be helpful too. I will be staying in canada. thanks and happy paddling!

You could camp at the Provincial Park which is at the bottom of Spednic Lake. The entrance to the park is off route 630.
If you want you can paddle out to a campsite on one of the islands. There are campsites on Todds Island as well as Big Island. There is also a historic campsite at the mouth of the Diggity Stream.
You can buy a map of the St. Croix system at the tourist bureau in McAdam. It shows the location of all the campsites.

You can reserve a site on Long Island (2kms west of mouth of Palfrey Lake) from Spednic Lake park as well. You could follow the Canterbury road north to Palfrey Lodge and put in there, that would be about 12-15kms to Vanceboro dam.
