Is there enough water to run this next weekend in kayaks? Also I was hoping to put in at the north branch dead waters or somewhere above the half moon put in. If the back roads are navigable. Thanks

Tickles, First check out the federal gauge at Blackville to see how high the water is. scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/formnav.asp?lang=0Then check www.nanookofthenashwaak.com/levels.shtml (go to the Main Southwest Miramichi in the table) and see what other folks have reported at various water levels. Then use your judgement!!! I too have tried to get in on the North Branch, but there's a gate just past the train bridge north of Juniper. Unless you have a pass signed by one of the Irvings, you don't get through the gate. The put-in at the bridge leads you through serpentine meanders in an alder forest down to the forks. Ken

Thanks Ken! I did those things and gather its a little low. I was thinking of taking a right at deersdale and taking the 4th forestry road on the left. Maybe I'll take a drive out there this week and see whats shaking.
