Hi all,
I'm new to the forums and have been kayaking for the last few years. I'm planning on kayaking the Saint John river (Aug 2 to the 5th) from Fredericton to Saint john (Grand Bay) and was wondering if anyone has done this trip? Is it fairly calm the whole way down? Any good places to camp out on the side of the river? Thanks.

Yann:
Welcome to the board.
As far as calmness, there is almost no drop from Fredericton to Grand Bay. I suggest the wind will be the most important help, or hindrance, depending on which way it is blowing.
You may find evening and night to be the calmest periods, and also the most beautiful, if you like that sort of thing.
Campsites? No clue. I know there are many islands with nice beaches in low water, but watch out for cows on Grimross and the other larger islets.
Good luck, and puhleeze, let us know how you make out.
Ken
