is this a good river to run? heard its great fishing but nothing on canoeing it.

I have run the North Renous from the lake to the forks. This is a kayaker's dream, lots of long and rugged rapids, for experienced risk-takers only. A falls past the exit from the lake that bears scouting.
From the highway above where the North and South branches meet, down to mother Miramichi, it is slow and wide, with swifts but no real rapids. Fishing, well, if there is a run on, I guess.
The South Branch is smaller, and there are serious drops above the road in from Storeytown. I have seen video of kayakers on this river.
