Hello..Am planning putting the boat in at rte 123 bridge and going to shinnickburn for a good day trip. Was wondering if there is a take out spot at shinnickburn that you could get a vehicle to grab the canoe at the end of the trip. Would be nice to get a car in but not necessary. Looks like there is a couple of irving roads off the rte 123 to get to shinnickburn. Anybody have any ideas? Thx

I once used the road just south of the 123 bridge to get to Shinnickburn in a car, but that was oh-so-long ago. I had to grit my teeth and squeeze my legs together to get my Chevy Malibu through some of the ruts, but I made it.
Good luck, and I hope the water is deep.

Just take the cains river road off of Rt 8 before Blackville. Sign on rt.8 says Cains River. A bridge crosses the Miramichi there. People live on this road and in Shinnickburn year around so the road is usually in alright shape.
