I have a ~17ft Mad River. It is made of Royalex and is ~6 years old. I am thinking of selling it. About how much can I realistically expect to get for it?
thanks...josh

You can always search for used Mad Rivers of the same model as yours on the net to get a basic idea of what your canoe may be worth. Take that number and subtract %25 - %30 for the New Brunswicker price . Oldtowns are often available for cheaper prices that you will have to compete against. The good thing is that there are not many Mad Rivers around and the "right" buyer may be just waiting for one to become available and yours may sell quickly. Comparatively, the asking price on a used/good condition 17' Oldtown Tripper is typically around $1000. Jamie

Thanks Jamie,
Not sure if selling is in the cards, but probably can't take the boat to Ontario. We are selling a house and renting an apartment. However, I do not think the in-laws will want to store our red canoe on their property indefinitely.
At least I have a few more trips planned for the early summer- Dungarvon, upper Nashwaak, MSW, etc...
cheers...josh
