I'd have to add my approval for the Seals brand as well. We have Seals Adventurer (non-neoprene/light duty) skirts for our Old Town Cayugas, 1.7 for the 16ft, and 4.2 for the 11ft. While they will probably not resist implosion crashing through a 3ft standing wave, neither boat is really suited to anything more than Class II anyways. I have personally nosed down into many smaller waves and had them crash over and roll off the skirt, and they have a lumbar to keep their shape and prevent pooling. Plus they really keep your bottom half warm during those cold, early season paddles, if you combine them with a dry top you're immune to wind. I think that may be a touring kayak's greatest advantage over a canoe, you can paddle against the wind much more easily, and stay much warmer too.

The 4.2 nylon skirt on the 11ft kayak survived the submersion at Tay Falls, the lumbar was bent under so there was a big pool in my lap, but the seal held. I think that's the limit for this product though, if I had another wave or drop right afterwards I think it would have imploded and sunk the battleship.
