APRIL 11 Got a nice ride on the N'sis Stream today (Sat, April 11, 2009) ... on around 2 and off around 4 with plenty of playing. Water level was 4-6 inches above the footing. The crew involved many of the unusual suspects... Mike G. solo in an OT Camper, Janine P & Dave S. in an OT Appalachian, and me Solo in an OT Cascade... we ran into Rich and Rich'er traveling in an OT Disco 169. The confluence still has a pile of lumber on River Right, just after the S-turn and a few 100m down from the Bridge. My advice is to get out and line around this section is you are at all concerned. The has gotta be my favorite River, short shuttle, lots of rocks with fat eddies to catch, or not catch, and you're home 30 minutes after the run. Dino >>>>>>>>>>APRIL 15<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Water lever was still good. We started at corner so did not see the bridge footing. Mike G ( OT Camper) and I Dino (OT Penobscott 186) sunubbed down with poles, while Ian McE (OT Pack) paddled. We paddled the last 1/4 as the water was too deep. On the River just before 7pm, off by 8:15-8:30, retreaved the trailer and had it loaded by 9pm. The poling was fun, Mike had a splash but no swim , while I had the splash, the swim, and the boat chase thing going. Got the boat back about 100 m down stream ;D. If you find a smallish Eurika clear plastic dry bag with a few pop, 2 pair of paddling gloves, and some fruit... call me... there could be an eight pack in it for ya. They could be in a log pile on where the River does a 90 degree turn to the right after a little s-turn. Dino
