Hi Ken,
Thanks for the link to your site w/trip log of Nepisiguit Adventure, very helpful for us. We are planning a trip there in June. We have run the Upper Kedgwick and Restigouche down to the Rafting Grounds last 2 years. We are both originally from western NS and have canoed many rivers in Southwest NS. We have met some great paddling friends in NB that have shown us the beautiful rivers NB has to offer.

Dreamin' of the NB rivers and the open skies. Look forward to sharing tales & lies with you this summer. Oh, to Kedgwick Bob (early June2008), if you lost a lunch bag (with treats) when you flipped on the South Branch,...........we got it and we enjoyed it ..Thanks :-))

Tell us about the South Branch of the Nepisiguit, ge. I've been told it's too rough to canoe ... but I've been told that about a few rivers, and found that buddy just didn't want anyone else on his little Shangri-la stream. Mind you, I've seen pictures, like this one that tempt me and freak me out at the same time. Ken

Sorry, I was referring to the Kedgwick not Nepisiquit. Had Nepisiquit on my mind, as thats our 2009 trip plan. So, in case your still interested, South Branch of Kedgwick has its challenges but nothing that can hurt you. Narrow channels and sharp corners and lots of rocks to avoid. Must be done before mid June in order to have enough water. 10 Km to the ranger camp for that first night in the bush. We did have a cedar strip canoe attempt it (not a good idea).....spent an hour fixing the hole in the side of that beautiful boat, but finished the trip. Gotta luv those extra challenges. Just ask Pennglenn You must do the South Branch, to say you have canoed the Kedgwick Cheers GE

Oh, the other good thing about the South Branch. You can fish it without a crown water licence.
