It should be deep enough, the river is tidal, and it has been wet lately, It would take you an hour and a little bit more, I'd say.
Tell me if you see any fish? Any tires?

saw all kinds of fish and even a bald headed eagle attack an offspray and then saw a beaver playign in the water.
took us 2hr 30 min, and only had to get out to push once, was right at the marysville bridge.

We enjoy the Mactaquac Arm. It's not river, but it's a little more sheltered than the headpond. There's a public road down from the 616 along Keswick ridge that leads to the water. I can't remember the name, it's next to the new Heaven's Gate development. Going down through there will also get you to the water - just make sure you hang a left at some point to get to the old road, which actually reaches the water.

I'm new to canoeing rivers, and this group. I bought a used Old Town last year and have paddled from Carleton Park down to and up the Nashwaak, but not too far past the first big bend. I too was looking for a couple hour trip down the Nashwaak coming out at Carleton Park. I guess I would be best off by putting in around the Penniac bridge, but where specifically would I put in, on the route 8 side or across the bridge. I worry about marching across someone's property. Is there a good put in spot handy the bridge. Also anything to worry about on that stretch of the river?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think there's a path on the left bank Penniac side by the bridge, but I''m not sure. There's fast water in Marysville at Boss Gibson's old dam site, some concrete rocks to dodge, but in high water you should sail through.

The Nashwaaksis Stream is another nice paddle. You can put in the St. John River near the Rugby Club and Dog Park and paddle a little upstream (Couple hundred metres) and head up the Nasis Stream up to the the Stone Bridge and then return.

We put in on the Nashwaak below Penniac bridge, on the left bank as described above. Took two hours to paddle down and around to northside green, including 15 mins to exit water and drain boat when I was pinned under one of Boss Gibson's 'rocks' at Marysville bridge in my little 8ft kayak, beware the right side. Plenty of water the whole way, did the run yesterday Monday Aug. 18.
