Anyone know where I can get long stainless bolts to hang and lower some wooden seats on a tripper?
Nothing available at kents or Apex in stainless.
Any other option you know of to hang seats other than bolts?

Home Depot has never impressed me with selection of anything I don't bother to include them on my places to check list. Ordering things online from these specialty places usually cost more than I'm interested in investing in a couple of canoe seat hangers...... I'm cheap and have found some 4 inch brackets(free) like I had on the other canoe. If anyone wants some free plastic molded canoe seats from an Oldtown Tripper let me know..... Jamie

Cool.
Are we going to get to see that new Tripper on the St. Croix trip? Are you going to paddle it solo? Tom

I bought some from macleans sport on the northside. any other canoe dealer should also have them. they might have to order them in though , last time i was there they only had three of them. they come with the bolt, nut and washers and i think they are about two bucks apiece.

Thanks Kyle.... I'm too far into my cheap method to stop now. If it doesn't turn out i'll check MacLeans Jamie

Tom Ya I'll be taking it on the St.Croix trip... unless I find a cheap wood/canvas between now and then. I'd prefer to go solo but will likely have to take Joe or someone else with me.(Should of kept my other canoe!) Jamie

It'd be good to see Joe again. As it stands now I am planning on taking my Chestnut solo. If you find you can't find a partner let me know and I'll leave the Chestnut at home and be your bowsman. I promise not to send you for a swim.
After Aug 1 I can be reached at 575-8693 or 277-6568.
Take it easy, Tom

If you can get the chestnut there Tom, I'd recommend going solo. You'll likely enjoy it more. I can take most of your gear for weight to keep you fibreglass up and out of the water.
Or you can cruise along with me if there is a spot..... Joe might not be able to make it.

I plan on moving the seats a bit so that I can sit closer to the centre. I should have no problem stowing gear as the boat is over 16 ft long. I'll just have to avoid the rocks to save the fibreglass. Take it easy, Tom

My seats in my canoe were hung too low for me, so I just got rid of the extenders and screwed and bolted them under the gunwales. I can kneel to get low if I need to.
