We all have a list of the rivers we've paddled. What about rivers where we've gone swimming unintentionally? Here's my list:
Magaguadavic Nashwaak Tay East Penobscot Nepisiguit Upsalquitch Keswick Allagash Ottawa
and prolly a couple more I can't remember.
Anyone else got a list?

Nashwaak Tay Bartholomew
I've had a lucky couple of years since I spilled last in the Nashwaak. Hopefully I'll have a few more.

Little River South Rusagonis and of course The Miramichi (at The Narrows). Never even made it to Burnt Hill. Almost added Spednic Lake to that list last weekend.
Hopefully I can add a couple of more next spring ;-)

Sad thing is I clenched both fists and started to unfurl fingers as I counted the rivers...soon ran out of fingers:-)

Maybe you should list the rivers you haven't swam in.

Perhaps best response is to describe (one of) the most embarrasing swims. Picture the calm Tobique on a beautiful Saturday morning. 11am and already half a dozen cold pops in the system. I go to show off my balance/prowess by standing in bow to pee. Unfortuntately at same time as I'm draining the lizard, we round a bend and 4 salmon fishermen are casting flies in our direction. My stern partner; trying to avoid disrupting pool quickly steers to opposite shore, throwing me off balance. So, there I am, with my hand busy steering the spray in a beatiful arc if I do say so myself, suddenly thrown off balance (while I'm trying to finish relieving myself AND hiding the "guilty party") fly very ungracefully into the water with a loud splash. I frantically grab onto the gunwales trying with everything still hanging loose and sputtering water. By this time we're in shallow water that's picking up speed and my knees, shins and other body parts are banging against the rocks as I beg my partner to head to shore so I can get to safety. He's too busy laughing too help. I'm not sure if fishermen were doubled over in laughter or disgust, but either way, it wasn't a pretty sight.... Just one of many swims over the years....... Brett still laughs whenever I speak of it (since he was in stern, of course!). Carm

Bite me...:-) Just joking. I didn't include the swims I took because I was horsing around. I only included the ones where I did everything I could to keep dry but was defeated by the river. Hell, I've fallen out of the canoe 10 feet in front of my cottage. I'm sure you have taken very few swims where you actually seriously try to stay dry.

I've never fallen out of the canoe, but then again, I've never really done any challenging rivers . I did become a member of the Penobscot River Swim Team this past Labour Day weekend when we went whitewater rafting.

Speaking of updating lists...
Add the keswick to my list. Went sideways over a rock and dumped last Saturday. Even with a wetsuit, that water had some bite.
