If you know someone that works at a hardware store or a paint store, ask them for 1oz of green tint. Mix with your epoxy and presto!!! Chameleon skid plates!!!!!

Looks good, Tickles. What did you use for the skid plate, and what epoxy did you use? I take it you are in toronto area now....

Still in NB, to much effort to move to Ontario. 2 part Epoxy was from a autobody shop. And I used the Harmony skid plates.
MEC sells skid plates for 25 bucks cheapest I have seen.

I need a skid plate..badly.
I've done some digging but have come up empty handed on what product is compatible with what canoe material. It seems like the general kits costs about ~$100, which seems quite pricey to me considering what's involved. Could this be as simple as going to a fabric store and picking up some felt and then applying with a generic 2-part epoxy?

I couldn't get kevlar material from my normal source last year so I opted with polyester fleece material (think sweat shirt). Used standard West system epoxy. Worked pretty good, wont likely last as long as a "proper" skid plate but it can be easily sanded and replaced when required. If you want to go that option you can stop by and check it out beforehand. Much cheaper than kevlar.

Where did you get the west system epoxy Jamie? Looks like there's lots of good reviews on this product, however I'm not finding around Fredericton yet.
