Wondering if anybody has been down little river between Durham & Rt 10?
Was on part of it this winter on the skidoo but would like to paddle it sometime. Wondering if there are any trees down? How long it'd take? Where'd you put it, lower durham rd or someplace else to shorten the trip?
Thanks
Work shift work so could do the trip during the week if someone is interested.

I would assume it's a no-go anywhere this time of year in southern NB unless it has rained recently ... substantially. I've run it twice, both times in early spring, nice easy day trip when the water level is high. My father and brother ran it at low water and were forced to spend the night in the woods and hike out the next day.

I did a day trip kayaking little river around this time last year. Not fun at all. We started at the Rt10 bridge and pulled out at the end of the Grub Road on Indian Lake. Water was decent for about the first 1.5km's then it got low quick and we were forced to get out and walk the kayaks through a lot of spots. Low water, big slippery rocks and sandles caused a lot of frustration. Once you get down about 1km before the old railbed you hit the back water from Indian Lake that made paddling perfect....lol

We put in behind Durham Bridge once, the other time we drove out the Slope Road from Minto, same place, and took out at the Route 10 bridge, nice day paddle if the water is high enough. Serious trouble if the water is low.

Anybody interested in doing this before the water level drops for the summer?

Hey Cosmo, when are you hoping to do this? I'd certainly be interested.

I'd go tomorrow, you off? Think this is a spring time or after a heavy rain type river. Doesn't seem to be much info around about it. Have heard 100 canoes use go May long weekend but lately it's only been half a dozen or so. Not sure if there's a water gage?

Sorry Cosmo, just got this now. You can e-mail me directly at brendanchase88@gmail.com next time though if you wanna make some plans. Unfortunately I'm at work today and can't really squeeze out this time. There's a chance I'm able to go on May 7/8 if you're interested then. I believe the big May long run you heard about started around the Eighteen/Rock road area and didn't' actually begin out in Durham, though I've never been on it either. I've paddled from Rte 10 down to Indian Lake before, nice paddle, not an aggressive stretch, generally lots of water.
