I used to tell folks where I plan to paddle in the spring. I don't anymore, because it might not happen. Or is it the Deliverance syndrome? I guess I like to be out in the woods with no one, except maybe my wife and my shuttle driver, knowing where I am and what river I'm on. I feel more free that way, I guess.
What about you? Do you have plans for a certain river and do you share them with others?

My paddling partner and I usualy kick off the year with an easy run down the Nash River or the stream if the water is right. That usualy shakes out the cob webs for the annual May Long weekend trip down the 'Chi. My wife is already sick of hearing about that trip.

Fish, Fish in the River Wapske
That's where the trouts got to be
Canoe down the river to Arthurette
When you boat in the river you might get wet!

Ha! I'm with you Ken, there are a few Tobique tributaries I would like to explore. The Right Hand Branch (Riviere de Chute) is quite steep in the Wapske so I would be cautious on that one if you go upstream that far. These guys didn't think there were too many trout in the Wapske, but I know differently: www.aafla.org/SportsLibrary/Outing/Volume_16/outXVI01/outXVI01k.pdfJust not as many trout as other tribs- access to the sea has been somewhat 'reduced' since that was written. I guess back to the Tobeatic for me first- so many areas to explore there. Should keep me busy over the next few years.
