Put in at Half Moon Cove at 10:00 and sailed down to Clearwater in no more than six hours. The rock mid-stream at Burnthill was submerged and I went right over the sucker... three big waves then the rock. I made the mistake of trying to photograph the rapid from the left bank and had no choice it seemed. But I made out alright. It never stopped raining the first day. I pulled up at Clearwater at 16:00 and set up shop not realizing the lodge was tucked up behind the trees. Some fishermen advised me to speak to Clint and Daisy about staying the night on their grounds but as luck would have it I was given a warm bed and breakfast. I stayed around long enough to see them land a 20" grille in the high water. I set off at 09:30. The sky finally began to clear. I reached the mouth of the Taxis by 14:00 with a lengthy lunch and hike at Fall Brook. Rocky Bend was turbulent but nothing like Burnthill. A driving rain squall set in at Price's Bend just below the bridge. It was a fine solo adventure. I see the gauge read 2.5 m on Thursday morning. A lot better than can be expected the last week of June. Attachments:

Thanks for the report. Glad you had a good trip. Sounds like the water was too high....
