Hey all! As much as I love my wood and canvas boat, I think it's time I got something a little more robust as well. I've got an interest in the Mad River Legend 15 (solo tripping) but before I plunk down a bunch of cash, I'd like to try one out. Anyone know of an outfitter that uses Mad River boats in their rental fleet? Either that, or does someone who has a Legend 15 mind loaning it to me for a weekend? Online reviews are fine as far as that goes, but nothing beats having my arse in the hull of the boat itself for a "test drive." By the way, I'm in the Woodstock area.

I would encourage you to take a look at Esquif as well. I have a few boats you are more than welcome to try. A few on this board can attest to the great quality and design of these craft. Esquif is the only manufacturer of canoes who are producing 2 -3 new boats per year. They have a real passion for canoes and are working with the best paddlers in the world on new designs.
