Well, do you have any more info about the Nackawic stream, Ryan? Been on it?

From "The St. John River in Maine, Quebec, & New Brunswick" by J.W. Bailey, 1894 The Nackawick Stream (drainage area one hundred and fifty square miles) enters the St. John from the northeast, three miles below Pokiok. It has three principal branches, all flowing from the same watershed that produces the Becaguimec and Keswick rivers. A line of the Canadian Pacific Railway crosses two branches, and on the southeast or principal one we find Millville, an important centre for the local lumber trade. The Nackawick is unadapted for practical canoeing, and little would be gained by visiting the upper waters, except for the purpose of hooking small trout, which abound in most of them. I'm guessing most of this holds true 118 years later, I note it only because it serves as a reinforcement indicator of the Becaguimec, Keswick, & Nashwaaksis Stream. Would you care to run those parts of it that could be done Ken? If so, I recommend you do the Pocologan afterwards . Are you coming on the 1st run of the season this year Ken? Or are you going to wait for more sane conditions? Either way i'd love to catch up with you somewhere on the water again this season.

Thanks for the invite, Ryan, but been there, got the t-shirt. I don't have much cold water gear, and after seeing the icicles on the alders as big as milk jugs hanging into the water, and the bogans all iced over, I'll let you guys who are better equipped and more immortal than me go ahead. I remember how cold it was last year when I hit that rock and flipped.
Of course, that's what I say every year, isn't it ;<0)

No crowds to be expected this year on the traditional spring SW Miramichi run. Not like it used to be.
I can't let life get in the way of this run. We have had a number of regulars drop out due to life (17 yrs we've done it now). Kids, work and whatevers that count every other wkd of the year. Short of a death in the family this is the only weekend for me and it will continue to be.
Look forward to seeing whoever we see out there.
Have a good wkd, Pete

Ranger brook camp needs 3 windows replaced one has had tuck tape on it for awhile. I would have measured the sizes but i did not have a tape with me:( And there are two others now that are missing. We put some cardboard over them to try to keep the critters out.
It seems the snow mobile people were quite hard on the old camp this winter, tons of garbage everywhere outside and a sign inside telling them to stay the F out if they could not keep it clean.
We went through April 15 other than that she is still all there.

I retaped two windows last weekend on the 18th with some Gorilla tape. Should hold for a while or until a proper replacement is found. Reused one of your cardboard bb gun boxes on one and completely Gorilla taped in another. That stuff in pretty stout and should hold for a while.
Bring wood. Not much to be had there. Two peices per boat would do a good night if your with a good crew.
