Its nice to be able to paddle a small stream this time of year. Too bad about your leg. How's the new canoe working for you?

Mitchell,
Yeah, how sweet it was to enjoy sunshine and warm breezes. We were very fortunate to have good water (2m on the Miramichi guage.) Although there were a few flies in the deep woods now and then, nothing we couldn't handle with bug dope and a mesh hat. Our evenings were nicely bug-free.
The Prospector ran just fine. I was able to make the tight turns in the tiny channels. In the really narrow spots, I could knee up to the center thwart and turn on a dime. Once I had to kneel right on the bow to work a tight stretch, it was easier in this boat than in any other I've paddled. I like the rounded bottom, I'll never get a keeled canoe again.
Laurie was paddling a Disco 16-9. He had to sit in the very back due to the pre-shaped tractor seats, and it was more work as he had to paddle harder to pivot and turn. If I got turned around backwards, I just hopped to the center thwart, spun around and off I went. He couldn't do that with his huge ship.
Yeah, it's a nasty-looking burn, but I'm up and walking, and it won't keep me down for long. Thanks for asking.
Ken
