Thanks to 50+mm of rain Sunday, we had a chance to make this run. It was tight to get it done and off the water before dark, but well worth the effort. It's a nice peaceful stream, bigger than the Nasis stream, but smaller than the South Tay. There were 4-6 full stream sweepers, only one of which required a full portage. There's a fun set of 4 or 5 ledges towards the end, and a trickly little drop over a right handed turn just past the concrete bridge and shortly before the confluence with the North Rush and the covered bridge. Mitchell half filled on his way through, but kept it upright and got to shore safely to bail. The boys tell me that last right hand drop gets everyone eventually if you make enough runs. The water, the leaves, the company, and the friendly local who came out to check on us when he heard us coming over the ledges made for a wonderful evening. Everyone should try this one, it's good training for longer trips on bigger water.
Sounds like a nice time Ryan. I haven't seen that stretch since 1981. All this rain has me dreaming of the upper nashwaak, but I don't think it's going to happen...striper fishing is heating up, and there are only so many vices a working man can support
