Nanook: Every picture tell a story don't it.... you had a great trip and I enjoyed seeing them. What a star-studded crew of characters!! Every one's favorite Dutch Uncle was your shuttle man. Did Donna Girl pay attention in the bow? See looked too happy to be attentive. If not, my advice to you as stern paddler would be the occasional whack to the head with a paddle. The girl is tough enough to take it. I noticed Mike Cote in the pictures.... I've seem him once on the Racing Circuit for the Mactaquac Sailing Assoc.... I say once because when the race started, I lost sight of the little bastardo within 5 minutes. Was he a speedster on the River too? If not, I want to go next time . If he is a paddling speedster, my advice is to beat him about the head with a paddle to slow him down before you start... can I come next time to take up that task? Thanks for the pics PS "Reach out and touch a head" Peace Out,

Sammy,
Yeah, Donna and I kept the open side up nicely. We agreed that she could paddle as she saw fit, and we cruised on the inside of the turns and slipped just beside the big wave trains, dipping in just at the right height. Two other boats weren't quite as lucky, they went for good swims in the rapids, and some paddles and clothes were sacrificed to the river gods.
Saw lots of gorgeous and strange birds, including a small snow white goose, I think. It flew into the alders and was gone. Eagles, too.
