I just checked and found out that UNB's Harriet Irving Library (the main library on the Fredericton Campus) has all the 1:50 000 topographic maps of Canada (and many 1:25 000 also). They're on the 3rd floor Map Room.
They also have a massive map of the province breaking it down into grids & map numbers, so it's very easy to find the specific map that you want. Photocopying the maps shouldn't be a problem at all.
So, if you're planning a trip and would like to know what's comming up around the bend but don't feel like ordering and spending $20 + per map this is a great option.

If you go to my home page, I have a link to electronic maps of all Canada at the bottom of each page on my site. They are great.

Neat site, Ken! Is there a way to download those maps to a gps? There's also a good topomaps site for gps's here: www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/The only thing I don't like about it is that it's SOOOO thorough that it takes a looooooooong time to download.

Hey Stroover,
I don't know, I have a GPS but don't know much about using it. Hey, I started a new forum on GPS thingies, feel free to post your heart out there.
Ken

I've bought laminated Topo maps from this site in the past. The prices are decent; www.maptown.com/index.htmlAt the site below you can download, for free, all the topo maps covering Canada. You can then print them out if you wish; ftp2.cits.rncan.gc.ca/pub/canmatrix/The maps are in .tif format and are great for checking out potential routes without buying a paper map. Most of the NB maps are under "21"
