Hey folks!
I grew up on the Nashwaak in Taymouth, and paddled that with my fater for 18 years. Have recently moved to woodstock and love a good day / camping trip with a canoe. Not very many of my firends are into this sort of thing so I am thrilled to see this site.
My knowledge of runs is very limited. I run a river every Victoria day weekend that is off the Chi, but besides that I haven't seen too much of NB.
I was thinking of trying the Tay the first Sunday in May, any suggestions or am I wasting my time.
As well I am anxious to hook up with other canoe'rs around woodstock to learn the rivers up here, as well if anyone is loking for another canoe to run COUNT ME IN. I am open to any run.
Nothing beats running a river!
Thanks a lot - love the site!

A standard Woodstock run is the Meduxnekeag. Perfect this time of year. When the water is low in summer, you'll be dragging at every riffle. Start at McBrides Bridge (near Jackson Falls) or downstream at Red Bridge and spend the day running down to Woodstock. Pull out at TCH bridge or right downtown by NBCC or Farmers Market by old train bridge. Ask around and you'll find someone familiar in no time. Its a great fun run. You can do it in half a day or make it into 2 days if you like to fish brown trout, pick fiddleheads, camp, consume beer, etc.
I'm from Woodstock but now living in Hfx.
