Well we put off at 5:40 PM it was me and my GF our first tiem running anything that was not a lake and our first time in any form of currant. went great... saw all kinds of wild life....bald headed eagle, offspray, both in a fight I might add, a beaver playign in the water, lots of fish, some kids and dogs anddragonflies. moskitos were not bad at all.. trip started simple enought super calm water, till about as far as you can just barely see the marysvill bridge...at witch point it got what we called "rapids" no idea if that is rapids or not...but we sure had a hell of a fun time...lol a couple of time we smashed some rocks and were going backwards...but we pressed on, we got stuck a few times and had to wiggle out bums about to make us slide over rocks... but we made it, then we were right to the bridge and it was too shallow for about 10-15 feet, so I got out and pushed the GF along till we got to deeper stuff and then it was super calm all the eay to the saint john river... was more of a relaxing trip then any form of rapids.... took us just about 2 hr and approx 30 min. and as promised I only got pictures when we set off, as I didn;t want my cam to get wet so I left it with my shuttle (parents) but here is the pictures of my colorfoul canoe it;s a disco 174

Looks like you had a nice run. That and the main Saint John are about the last places left for deep water right now.

for the record ken we saw 8 tires 2 bikes a sandal and a shoe and all kinds of beer cans, i took the shoes and cans as they were small and light the rest, i left there as I was too scared to have too much weight...still a rookie with this canoe thing...
but 2 tires were on a beach really close to the mouht where it meets the saint john...the other 2 were before the marysvilles bridge.
but the 2 close to the mouht..are and I"ll try to explain this...
if you know where the beaver point is...where the beaver is allways playign in the water...just go towards marysville on your right side a little island of all rocks and sand is there and one tire on each end.
about 2-3 bends before the section where the power lines go over the water. right at the bend where the river allmost takes a complete 180 hope that makes sence...I'll try to show you on google maps

maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=&daddr=45.95755,-66.610065&mrsp=1&sz=16&mra=mi&sll=45.95746,-66.608627&sspn=0.00725,0.014462&ie=UTF8&t=k&z=16&om=1 this is the best i could do. but i think you get the point right on the right side of this pic you can allmost see where the sand and rocks are just under the water

Thanks, a6d9. I plan to cruise that way Thursday, maybe I'll see the tires near the mouth.
