Date: May 26, 2007 Water Level: 0.75 North Oromocto @ Tracy Crew: 4 Boats, 8 People Length: 2 hours, Miles Elevation Drop: Feet
As the rivers are running low of water, so are the choices of rivers. The Piskehagen is always a good second choice when the Oromocto is running dry. It is a lazy run, meant for relaxing.
After church we loaded up the trucks to head to the drop off point where we dumped off the 4 boats and 8 people. Little brother Josh and I took the two trucks up to Russel Dam where we unloaded our two bicycles and raced the 6.5km back to the drop off point where the rest of the crew was waiting.
The trip took 2.5 hours to Russel Dam. We saw all kinds of wildlife, beavers, muskrat, and even two moose in separate locations.
People on this trip included Kevin Phillips, Josh Fowler, Rockland Fowler, Marion Fowler, Greg Dempsey, Danny Lunn, Marcy Lunn, and myself Rudi Fowler.

I have wanted to do that run for a while now. Did you put in on the 785? If not where did you put in and how do you get to the Russel dam? If you have GPS longs and lats that would be great. Any help would be great. Was the water at a good level? Thanks Steve

Hey Steve, No, we didn't put in on the Mine Road, there definatly wouldn't be enough water to do that. We put in after the turn off to Peltoma Lake. Coordinates are 45-32-28.99N 066-51-46.36W. The take out is at Russel Dam 45-31-02.57N 066-54-51.73W.
The water level is really low at the first put in, but trust me, it gets deeper the closer you get to the dam. I sent you an aerial photo indicating the take in and pull out locations.
