I guess I am never going to build another canoe. I have:
1 Strong Back with stations to build 17.6 tripper, complete with book, $75
1 Roll of fiberglass, sufficient to two or three canoes, weighs about 100 pounds, $75 Comes with the remains of my West System.
7 books on canoe building $15 each. At work so I don't have all the titles.
One 16 foot lake canoe in clear cedar strip, needs a light sanding, fresh varnish and waxing. Comes with the remains of my varnish. Beautiful boat, all ash trim, seats (nylon mesh) and yoke. Ash gunwales are ONE PIECE steam fitted by me. Only brass used for fittings. Boat shows all it's battle scars, I sealed the scars in rather than sand them out and it makes for an exciting looking boat. Rear thwart is lowered for soloing. Holds about 900 pounds. $1200. I decided to move back to a plastic boat to fish the little ponds of NB rather than trip over long periods, I am getting old and wore.
Got some short Ash cut rough for thwarts and yokes as well, $25 for the pile.
I am in Youngs Cove and can deliver Oromocto, Chipman, and Sussex. Further if you are nice to me.....
