Took my new Ogilvy out to the mouth of the Nashwaak for a trial run to teach myself to pole. Survived my first attemp at standing in a canoe. Had thoughts of poleing the Chi next year... I'm going to need some more practice though. Some pics avail. here community.webshots.com/user/JamiePembletonJamie

Hey Jamie, Does this mean you will be retiring the "Blue Hole"? Tom

Not likely Tom. The Blue Hole is the only canoe i'll never sell. It's a perfect small solo boat for me. And since i've never had Joe in a canoe with me and not flip it, it might be a good idea just to own 2 canoes so I can lend one to Joe while I paddle the other If Joe or I don't use it in the spring you can take it for a solo run down the Chi if you want. I might shop the Ogilvy around in search for a Tripper or another model I can pole and also smash into rock. Jamie

Hey Jamie, Thanks for the offer. However, I hope to see both you and Joe on our next trip. Maybe you can teach us how to pole. Happy Thanksgiving, Tom
