Hi All, Does any one have any information or has ever been on the body of water running behind Dumfries/Pokiok Settlement? When searching on Google Earth (although not the most reliable) it looks like an interesting stream, just trying to find out if it's runnable or if anyone has ever been on it? Also when zooming in on the stream in Google, it shows Big Deadwater, Canoe Rips, Ellegood Rips, if that helps! www.google.ca/maps/place/Canoe+Rips/@45.9112822,-67.1860686,22105m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x4ca445829bca8ead:0x92f22e042e94f4b5 Any information would be appreciated! thats the pokiok stream. there is a sizable drop that i know off that would not be doable for the average boater plus some decent rapids below through some narrow small canyon type scenery. there is a road from the old tch that goes through the woods to a small park that the nackawick pulp mill put in there to view the falls. above this section it looks to be mostly flat water with a couple of rough sections all the way to lake george. havent paddled any of it myself. have heard of people doing a small section bellow the falls to the confluence with the st. john river.

yeah there is about 2 km's from the small falls to the headpond. This is easily doable in WW kayak. Canaoe would be a lot easier solo or if tandem a decked canoe would be helpful. Above the falls it eases up and a ways up there s a dam. Not sure what is above the deadwater of the dam. It's been a long time.
