Is anyone aware of any rivers in NB hat have/will have enough water to paddle Labor Day weekend? I have heard that other than the St. Croix, the water is pretty much too low everywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know people that paddle the Restigouche down to 0.8. I have not paddled it that low but she still will use a motorized canoe (with jet drive) down to 0.8 as well. You will probably hit here and there but it depends on the load in your boat and whether or not you mind jumping out when you get out of the thalweg to find deeper water.

Thanks for the response, not much water to be had anywhere. Really cuts into my long weekend of paddling plans LOL.
Ken, to the best of my knowledge, it is basically the channel of a river.

I know, I was just being a twit. Thanks, greenyak. Yeah, it's drier than cork leg out there.

Think of the thalweg as going the right way around the island in low water... many channels, only one thalweg! Plus it's fun to say, thalweg, thalweg. Bring on the tropical frickin storms already!

In full support of a week of steady rain...Monday-Friday preferably!
Accessed Bolton Lake on Sunday and hauling my loading down Discovery 169 over the rocks was a grind.....and a scrape.

Actually, thalweg is pronounced "tallvaik" in the original German, so it's even more fun if you say it that way, riveraddict!
