I am seeking advice on how to transport a canoe. I am planning on transporting a 12 foot canoe from Halifax to Moncton. I have a van towing a 10 foot trailer.
I'm comfortable that I can properly secure the load with multiple nylon ratchet straps. However I am unsure whether I want to carry it upside down or right side up. The canoe will be the only thing on the trailer. Will the upside down canoe create enough drift to make the trailer unstable at highway speeds? Am I better off putting the canoe right side up on this trailer?
Any suggestions or insights would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had a highly rockered boat that was hitting my roof upside down so I flipped it over (rightside up) and drove to Fredericton from New Glasgow. Bent my roof and slid the roof rack backwards, gouging the paint. Haven't done it again since... A lot more drag for sure.
