Hi Marc. I am not sure if there is a paddling club in your area. In Fredericton there is one that meets on Monday and Tuesday nights at the UNB pool. If you plan to get into faster and more challenging water, consider what you have for safety gear. Helmet, dry / wet suit, throw rope, good pfd, ect. I have done business with Don Rittwage in Moncton at a place called the Kayak Exchange. He could probably let you know what is available for clubs in your area, and sells some white water paddling gear.

Hey there, thanks for the info I am not looking to join a Club, just want to tang along for a day trip. I already have a helmet, good pfd. I will be buying a throw rope and dry suit soon. I know Don from Kayak exchange because I buy all my gear at that store. My kayak is a Ethos 10 by wave sport. It's a cross over. I am not an expert but, I have some experience in the white stuff. I went on local runs last spring. The water was higher then normal. There were lots of people in the water. My kayak went true the white stuff very easily. I would like to join up with you for spring run in class 2 and light 3 to test my skill and learn from you guys. Is rolling a must? I will be taking a course soon. Thanks again. River 44

Marc have you done the Pollett river the last Saturday in April with the big crowd? As you can see from this thread I enjoy it but it's not for everyone. canoenb.proboards.com/thread/1013/pollett-river-run-april-27thI noticed on the river runners club page (maybe the club you were in in Moncton) attends most years.

I've scanned the you-tube videos and what I can't understand is why folks would ruin their trucks in the mud. They must have a lot more bucks than I do. Also, you gotta wonder who owns the land they are ripping apart. I guess I'm off-topic but tuff.

Marc, if I am able to get out this coming spring I will let you know for sure. Your kayak would be just fine for class 3 and unlike my boat, you could pack for extended trips (:
